Gift & Support
Comfort and support, from four-legged “best friends” to those who need it most.
Therapy dogs fill a role in the hospital that medicine alone cannot. 99% of those we surveyed after visiting with a Dogs on Call therapy dog reported reduced stress!
- At the Center for Human-Animal Interaction (CHAI), we improve health and well-being through human-animal interaction, including with our Dogs on Call therapy dog program, human-animal interaction research, and other programs. Learn more about our accomplishments in our Annual Reports.
- All donations to CHAI are fully tax-deductible. We are a 501(c)(3) stewarded through the Medical College of Virginia Foundation, a 97% 4-star charity.
- Our therapy dog visits at VCU Health are free to patients, families, and staff. We provide our teams with all of the materials, trainings, and supports needed to safely and professionally serve VCU Health. Your support helps pay for our team’s trading cards, hand sanitizer, uniforms, coordination, and ongoing trainings.
