Interviews & Presentations

CHAI’s faculty are available for interviews and presentations. While we prioritize requests from major outlets and institutions, we also strive to accommodate requests from students and community groups whenever possible.  Please reach out to chai@vcuhealth.org if you would like to request an interview or presentation.

CHAI faculty have been recognized as subject matter experts on human-animal interaction by many prestigious media outlets, including NPR, the New York Times, and National Geographic.  We have delivered talks in diverse settings, including conferences, university guest lectures, animal-focused interest groups, American political forums, and once even to a member of the British Royal Family.

Our team can present on a wide range of human-animal interaction (HAI) topics. If you have a specific HAI-related topic in mind, feel free to reach out and check it with us. Past presentations have covered topics including:

  • Developing and evaluating animal-assisted interventions and pet visitation programs.
  • Animal-assisted interventions in healthcare facilities.
  • The health benefits of interacting with companion animals.
  • Ethical considerations in the use of companion animals in the treatment of mental disorders.
