Dogs on Call

The Dogs On Call Program provides a complementary therapy to enhance the well being of patients, staff, and students through canine-assisted interventions. Trained and registered therapy dog-handler teams from the community visit patients and staff throughout the VCU Medical Center and students on the academic and medical campuses. Benefits of this evidence-based therapy dog program have been published in scholarly journals and showcased in extensive media coverage.   

Pet Loss Support

Recognizing the strength of the human-animal bond and the pain experienced when the bond is broken, The Center for Human-Animal Interaction offers several resources to help grieving owners and professionals working with grieving owners.

Professional Consultation

Consultation is available through the Center for Human-Animal Interaction on many issues related to the human-animal bond.
