This afternoon, Dr. Nancy Gee, Director of the Center for Human-Animal Interaction at Virginia Commonwealth University gave the Canadian Institute of Animal-Assisted Interventions a very informative and lively interview. Volunteering with her dog at old age homes and schools changed the course of her professional life. An inquisitive mind and a gift to ask the right questions, she devoted her career to research the Human-Animal bond. She now dreams of and works toward the day when therapy dogs will be allowed to use public transportation, health professionals will prescribe animal-assisted therapy, insurance companies will cover them and so on and so forth. Keep up the good work Dr. Gee.
