Dr. Randolph Barker featured in Telluride News

Dr. Randolph Barker, professor of management in the VCU School of Business and long time support of the Center for Human-Animal Interaction, was featured in the Telluride News article "Take Your Dog to Work Day."

 

Of note was the study comparing employees who bring their dogs to work, employees who do not, and employees without pets, which provided the first quantitative study on the effects of employees' pet dogs in the workplace setting on employee stress, job satisfaction, support, and committment. 

 

“The differences in perceived stress between days the dogs were present and absent were significant. The employees as a whole had higher job satisfaction than industry norms.”
